Products and applications
The FP range of fire resistant cables is comprehensive and contains cables for most fire applications. Below there is a quick overview of the cable range with its typical applications. Click on links for further details.
Cables

FP100®
This is the fire resistant alternative to standard cable for use in metal conduits and trunking. It is an excellent choice for upgrading existing conduit based lighting and fire alarm systems to current emergency specifications. FP100 may be used for emergency lighting, fire alarm circuits not requiring twisted pair, or for other essential services.

FP600S®
A stranded armour version of our popular FP600 cable offering the ultimate cable for protected circuits for emergency electrical services in large or complex buildings employing fire engineered solutions where only the highest performing fire resistant power cable can provide the necessary protection.
FP600S datasheet >FP Cable Accessories
In order to achieve the maximum fire performance potential of a cable it is important that the accessories used to terminate and support the cable meet the same test requirements of the cable. Prysmian manufacture and supply a comprehensive range of glands, cleats and clips that complement the cables.

AP Clips
The original FP fixing. Meets the fixing requirements of BS5839-1:2002 for fire resistant cables, due to their metal based design. AP clips are copper based and coated in an Afumex Low Smoke Zero Halogen (LSOH®) coating. This coating is either red or white depending on the colour of cable being installed. AP clips securely fix single FP cables.

FP FirefixTM
Unique FP fixing system that allows FP cables to be installed up to 10 times faster than with AP clips and meets the fixing requirements of BS5839-1:2002 for fire resistant cables, due to their metal based design. FP Firefix clips are stainless steel based and coated with an Afumex Low Smoke Zero Halogen (LSOH®) coating. The system uses gas nailing technology, which nails the fixing into position into a variety of substrates including concrete, composite steel decking and cast iron. Available in Red or White to complement the cable, FP Firefix is available in either a single cable option for installation of 1 cable, and a double cable option which allows installation of either 1 or 2 cables. For use with the

Firefix (double clip) datasheet > Nylon Cable Glands
An easy fit cable gland that is available in red or white to complement the cable, these glands offer the perfect solution to terminate fire resistant cables. These nylon glands can be used to terminate fire resistant cables into a fire resistant enclosure. Alternatively a fire resistant brass gland option should be used.
Nylon cable glands datasheet > BICON Brass Cable Glands
BICON cable glands are synonymous with quality and ease of installation. For our FP400 and FP600 cable range we offer bespoke brass glands designed to fit the cables securely. Choosing the right size cable glands is essential to ensure a secure, safe termination.
